Costello's Ace Hardware of La Plata

Costello's Ace Hardware store in LaPlata, MD is a very organized & clean store where you can find what you are looking to purchase. It is a great store to have your window screens repaired or replaced! I had a set of 3 window screens replaced with stronger wire at a very reasonable price. The birds had a good time tearing up my front screens in the Spring to build stronger bird nests! Let's see how this screening works, of course I will find out in Spring, 2024!😊. Was a great place, not so much anymore. The kid behind the counter could not answer any questions of those in line and did not care to find out answers. He should have stayed home and played video games. A few others customers left frustrated as did I. I understand that teens may not be hardware experts, but it least have someone there that can answer basic questions and can tell you if they sell a particular product and where it is. I went to purchase water softener salt and had to repeat myself several times. Rather than asking someone who knew he said it might be in isle 5 or outside. I found it outside and had to carry it in because he could not find it in the computer or on the code sheet. I would love to see an improvement because prior to this the place was great!

Well stocked, friendly staff, and open Sundays (while as a person I wish they were closed for employees to get a break, as a homeowner who normally needs stuff on Sunday, for some reason, I appreciate that). Easy to get to, just off 301.

This is definitely a local sweet spot. You can normally find products at the store when the big chain stores are out of stock. Small town Secret.

They have more stuff than I thought. It’s like a mini, Home Depot or Lowes, but prices may be a little higher, check to make sure :)
